LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL
Lavender essential oil is used in aromatherapy to relieve stress and anxiety, improve mood, and promote restful sleep. Baths with lavender are known to provide deep cleansing for both body and mind, and to help treat a wide variety of health issues. Lavender essential oil relieves various types of pains including those caused by sore and tense muscles. In skincare, lavender essential oil is used to treat acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions. Antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of lavender essential oil make it a common remedy used to speed up healing of wounds, cuts, burns, sunburns, and bug bites.
LAVENDER FLOWERS
Added to bathwater, the anti-inflammatory components in lavender flowers aid in reducing inflammation. Lavender-infused water relieves dry and irritated skin, and helps in chronic conditions like psoriasis, eczema and acne, as well as boosts the health of follicle beds and hair. The natural organic compounds in lavender flowers can be ground between the fingers and rubbed onto temples—topical application can soothe the body and mind by relieving anxious thoughts and balancing the mood.
DEAD SEA SALT
Bathing in a Dead Sea salt solution significantly improves skin hydration, texture and tone. Dead Sea salt contains over twenty minerals that moisturize, detoxify and soften your skin. The minerals your body absorbs from the bath are known to provide effective relief from joint swelling, soreness and stiffness by improving blood circulation, which is necessary in reducing inflammatory response. Soaking in water enriched with Dead Sea salt treats skin conditions and helps your body to rid itself of toxins. The minerals released from the salt help break down deposits of toxins trapped below the skin’s surface, making your skin look smoother.
COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants that help prevent aging and damage to the skin. It is the most abundant source of lauric acid, a fatty acid known for its antimicrobial and moisturizing properties. Aside from its anti-aging and skin-healing abilities, it promotes the production of collagen. Naturally rich in vitamin E, soothes and calms irritated skin.
EPSOM SALT
Epsom salt adds to the relaxation factor by soothing muscles, softening the skin, and restoring lost minerals and magnesium. It contains magnesium sulfate, an important mineral that helps balance the body’s many biological processes and flush out toxins through the skin. Magnesium sulfate strengthens detox pathways throughout the body allowing it to purify itself from heavy metals and other unwanted waste. Additionally, Epsom salt aids in faster recovery after a workout—magnesium helps soothe away soreness, assists in the removal and excretion of lactic acid from muscles, and reduces muscle cramps.
BAKING SODA
Adding baking soda to a bath cleanses and detoxifies your whole body, boosting immune system and eliminating toxin build-up. Baking soda is alkaline, and when combined with water, makes it slightly more alkaline—the water feels a little more silky. Using baking soda in a bath can reduce skin irritation and itching, sooth eczema, psoriasis or diaper rash and relieve sore muscles.
