OLIVE OIL

The extra virgin olive oil used to make Malina Castile Soap is harvested in the most recent year, is ultra-high in polyphenols and offers superb medicinal qualities. Extra virgin olive oil has been used topically for centuries to relieve every day skin ailments. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-aging properties because it is packed with antioxidants and vitamins. It hydrates the skin by building the skin’s moisture barrier to prevent loss of moisture. Abundant in vitamin K, vitamin E, and polyphenols, olive oil protects against free radicals which damage the skin.

 

SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Making soap requires sodium hydroxide (lye), water, and oil to start the chemical process of saponification. While a fair amount of lye may be used to create the soap, a properly finished product doesn’t contain sodium hydroxide anymore.

 

HONEY

Raw honey contains a powerhouse of nutrients, enzymes, and anti-bacterial compounds that speed up healing of wounds and cuts, reduce inflammation and improve condition of skin with acne, eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis. A natural humectant and moisturizer, honey draws water from the air and binds it to the skin, while the enzymes it contains enable moisture to penetrate the skin and hydrate underlying layers. Honey is naturally abundant in antioxidants that neutralize free radicals, preventing premature aging. It offers mild lightening properties, helping to reduce acne scars and hyperpigmentation over time.

Before you start using this bar, store it in a cool dry place out of direct light.

Wet your skin, work the soap into a lather and apply it to your body. Gently massage it into your skin with a circular motion for about 30 seconds and rinse.

Place on a draining soap dish after every use.
