PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL
Peppermint essential oil is valued for its cooling effects. It contains menthol, an organic compound that helps to soothe discomfort. It naturally repels insects, while the cooling sensation it provides can help relieve skin irritation. Its refreshing and stimulating scent is capable of boosting mental alertness and focus. Peppermint essential oil has a natural SPF of about 7. 

NON-NANO ZINC OXIDE
Zinc oxide is a powdered mineral that acts as a physical barrier which shields your skin from the sun. It sits on top of the skin, scattering, reflecting, and absorbing UVA and UVB rays. A non-nano particle of zinc oxide does not enter the blood stream which makes the non-nano type of zinc oxide safer. Additionally, non-nano zinc oxide displays broader coverage against UVB, UVA, and blue light, as compared to nano zinc oxide.

RED RASPBERRY SEED OIL
Red raspberry seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids, primarily linoleic and linolenic acids, responsible for its superior anti-inflammatory and anti-aging qualities. High content of vitamins E and A help in preventing oxidative damage, which can lead to premature skin aging and skin cancer. Very high levels of phytosterols help to reduce trans-epidermal water loss, thereby helping to keep your skin moisturized, as well as to repair skin damaged by environmental factors including sun damage. Red raspberry seed oil has a natural SPF of between 28 and 50 against UVB rays, and an SPF against UVA rays of around 8.

CARROT SEED OIL
Health benefits of carrot seed oil can be attributed to its properties as an antiseptic, disinfectant, detoxifier, antioxidant, and an anticarcinogenic. It exhibits strong protection against free radicals that cause oxidative stress and cell damage, thus helping you retain your youth. Carrot seed oil tones the skin and prevents it from hanging loose or showing signs of aging. It has a natural SPF of between 38 and 40.

COCONUT OIL
Extra virgin coconut oil is the most abundant source of lauric acid, a fatty acid known for its antifungal, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is rich in antioxidants that help prevent aging and damage to the skin. Aside from its anti-aging and skin-healing abilities, it promotes the production of collagen. Naturally rich in vitamin E, soothes and calms irritated skin. Coconut oil has a natural SPF between 2 and 8, and contains antioxidants that help protect the skin from harmful radiation from the sun.

SHEA BUTTER
The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing. Shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production. It contains oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying. Regular use of raw shea butter can treat itching, burns, small skin wounds, eczema, and skin allergies. Shea butter has a natural SPF of 6-10.

SWEET ALMOND OIL
Mild and hypoallergenic, sweet almond oil is a perfect choice for sensitive skin. Naturally occurring vitamin E keeps skin soft and supple. Rich in vitamin A, zinc and potassium. Monounsaturated fatty acids help retain moisture and can heal irritated skin. Almond oil has a natural SPF of about 5.

BEESWAX
Used in skin products, beeswax creates a barrier which helps to seal moisture into the skin, at the same time allowing it to breath and protecting from environmental toxins and irritants. Naturally contains vitamin A, which improves hydration to the skin and promotes cell regeneration. Beeswax makes natural sunscreen waterproof.

VITAMIN E
Vitamin E is an extremely powerful antioxidant. It has moisturizing and healing benefits, and helps to strengthen skin barrier function. Anti-inflammatory properties of vitamin E soothe and calm irritated skin. Vitamin E naturally protects against cell mutation caused by sun.

While an estimate as to the SPF value of Malina natural sunscreen is 30+ or 60+ (depending on selected option), please note that it was not laboratory tested. Always use caution and common sense when spending extended periods of time under the sun. We recommend that you test this sunscreen with your own skin tone by starting with shorter sunbathing sessions. Although beeswax makes Malina sunscreen waterproof, for best results reapply it every 2-3 hours or after spending time in water. Remember, the safest way to protect your skin is to stay out of the sun.
