FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL
Frankincense is known for its powerful anti-inflammatory properties—pentacyclic triterpene, a steroid-like compound found in frankincense essential oil, contributes to its soothing effect on inflamed and irritated skin. Used topically, frankincense essential oil reduces redness, swelling, and itching. It is also a natural toner, decreasing the appearance of pores and evening skin tone. Frankincense essential oil encourages new cell growth, helping to tighten skin and reduce wrinkles and the appearance of scars and dark spots. It also soothes chapped, dry skin. The warm, calming scent of frankincense clears mind, relieves stress and lifts emotions.
BLACK CURRANT SEED OIL
Black currant seed oil is one of the richest sources of gamma linolenic acid (GLA), a highly effective anti-inflammatory agent, along with other important polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as steariodonic acid, omega-3 and omega-6. Steady supply of essential fatty acids is crucial for skin health—fatty acids strengthen the intracellular moisture barrier preventing water loss from the skin, reduce redness and inflammation, while also minimizing the signs of aging. High concentration of polyphenols, vitamin C and vitamin E contributes to powerful antioxidant quality of black currant seed oil. Antioxidants promote collagen production and help to neutralize free radicals, ultimately aiding in preventing cellular damage, uneven skin tone or hyperpigmentation. Black currant seed oil is particularly beneficial for dry, damaged, devitalized skin, as well as for sensitive skin and skin with inflammatory conditions. It has comedogenic rating of 0-1, meaning that it ranks between noncomedogenic (will not clog pores) and very low likelihood of clogging pores.
CARROT SEED OIL
Health benefits of carrot seed oil can be attributed to its properties as an antiseptic, disinfectant, detoxifier, antioxidant, and anticarcinogenic. It exhibits strong protection against free radicals that cause oxidative stress and cell damage, thus helping you retain your youth. Carrot seed oil tones the skin and prevents it from hanging loose or showing signs of aging. It has a natural SPF of between 38 and 40.
SHEA BUTTER
The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing. Shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production. It contains oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying. Shea butter has comedogenic rating of 0-2, meaning that it is between noncomedogenic (will not clog pores) and moderately low likelihood of clogging pores.
BEESWAX
Used in skin products, beeswax creates a barrier which helps to seal moisture into the skin, at the same time allowing it to breath and protecting from environmental toxins and irritants. Naturally contains vitamin A, which improves hydration to the skin and promotes cell regeneration.
VITAMIN E
Vitamin E is an extremely powerful antioxidant. It has moisturizing and healing benefits, and helps to strengthen skin barrier function. Vitamin E is a natural anti-inflammatory, so it soothes and calms irritated skin.
